Welcome to MIPA!

MIPA has been around since 1989 as the leading intellectual property association bringing together practitioners, owners, users, academicians, students and other parties interested in IP and its development in Malaysia.

Our tagline “Towards an IP Nation” reflects the Government’s efforts to promote innovation and nurture IP, thereby transforming Malaysia into a high income nation.

We have been actively involved in various IP issues impacting the nation such as the latest amendments to IP legislation and working with government agencies in promoting innovation.  These include the recent dialogue with UNIK of the PM’s office and our periodical meetings with MyIPO.

I wish to make special mention of our recent conference entitled “IP and Innovation: What’s Next for Malaysia?” from June 22-23 at Empire Hotel, Subang Jaya. It was a great conference with great topics and speakers sharing on this important national theme.  I thank all those who have contributed one way or another to the success of the conference.
