MIPA, established in 1989, is the umbrella organization for Intellectual Property (IP) laws and related matters in Malaysia. One of MIPA's objectives is to promote the proper protection and development of IP in Malaysia and the Asian region. It has strong links with other IP organizations around the world such as Association Internationale pour al Protection de la Propriete Industrielle (AIPPI), the Asian Patent Attorneys Association (APAA) and the ASEAN Intellectual Property Association (ASEAN IPA).

 

Through this website, MIPA expects to be a source of information for all matters relating to IP, rights of IP owners, users and consumers, including information relating to trademarks, patents, copyright, industrial designs, geographical indications, protection of confidential information, protection of layout designs of integrated circuits and enforcement of IP rights. There will also be information relating to training programmes intended for IP professionals as well as for the education of the public.
